The Commissioner's Fundamentals training will be offered at the 2014 Colorado NAHRO Annual Conference on Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 at the Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The regular price for this day and a half long training is $450 when offered by NAHRO. Colorado NAHRO is happy to make it available to its members for $375 which includes all meals and events at the management conference (3 breakfasts, two lunches, reception and banquet) plus the opportunity to attend the general sessions on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

This course explores the roles and responsibilities of commissioners, enhancing understanding of the commissioner's multi-faceted position as advocate, leader, team-builder, strategist-and more. Increase your effectiveness as a board member and leader, while exploring the intricacies of board-staff relationships and boundaries. Provides an excellent training foundation for the new commissioners. (1.2 CEUs)
Successful completion of this course along with the NAHRO Ethics Training will earn participants a NAHRO NPDS Commissioner Certification.
Joan Smith, V.P. Commissioners for Mountain Plains NAHRO, Board Chair of Metro West Housing Solutions, and Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Education OSHA Training Institute at Red Rocks Community College, will conduct this 1.5 day training. Joan holds the Commissioner Certification from NAHRO as result of completing the commissioner training track offered by NAHRO and is authorized by NAHRO to teach the Commissioner Fundamentals.
